The Rebirth of a Legend

The bike that earned America’s title as the winningest flat track racer in American Motorcycle Association (AMA) history.  The bike that was ridden by legends of flat track racing like Cal Rayborn and Jay Springsteen.  The bike that served as the iron steed to the world’s last gladiator and most famous daredevil, Evel Knievel….is BACK!

In 2016, The Harley Davidson Screamin’ Eagle Factory team is bringing back the legendary XR-750 in it’s newest iteration, the XG-750R!  This is the first flat track racer that the Motor Co. has put on the road in over 40 years, and suffice to say you’ll be seeing it throwing rooster tails at dirt tracks and clouding the sky at dusty ovals all across the U.S, in 2016.  This rocketship on two wheels will be competing in the AMA Pro Flat Track series this year.

Helping bring this racing work of mechanical art to the tracks this year is another titan of the motorcycle industry:  none other than Vance & Hines!  Crucial help in designing and building the XG-750R, Vance & Hines has long partnered with the Harley Factory Racing team to produce some of the baddest and fastest bikes on earth!

Although this model will not be available in a street legal configuration (in most states, things like lights, indicators, an instrument cluster and a front brake are legally required for street legal bikes), just catching a blurry glimpse of this bullet-fast flat track wonder will be enough to stir up adrenaline and nostalgia in Harley enthusiasts of all ages, whether you got to see Evel jump his star-spangled XR-750 over a slew of Greyhound buses on Wide World of Sports back in the 70’s, or you just want to see flat track racing in all it’s glory, the 2016 Harley-Davidson XG-750R will leave a smile on your face and thumping heart in your chest.
