Blog: All About The Harley-Davidson® Street Line

Back in 2013, Harley-Davidson® unveiled two completely new urban-style bikes: the Street 500 and Street 750. (1) What's more, the rides are not necessarily designed for typical H-D® riders, (2) and with newly available accessories, these smarter and smaller hogs are incredibly appealing. (1)

Overview

According to a March 2015 article from The Motley Fool, the Harley-Davidson® Street 500/750 motorcycles achieved pleasant results in Harley®’s fourth-quarter earnings report. Sales jumped 20 percent in its division, which was better than what the touring segment managed. (2)

In case you were wondering why Harley® has been heavily promoting its lean and nimble urban rides, it may have something to do with the motorcycle maker’s new bike platform, (2) 2016 updates, (4) and — more importantly — the Street model accessory line, the last of which is definitely worth a closer look. (3)

Street 500/750 Accessory Line

Based on Harley®’s press release, which has been posted on Cycle World, four intriguing Street model accessories have been listed. See below for details: (3)

Screamin’ Eagle Nightstick Slip-On Muffler: Well-designed and featuring external stainless steel diffusion discs in addition to a domed end cap, the Nightstick muffler will deliver “a fatter engine torque curve” when compared to the Original Equipment exhaust, according to Harley®. As a result, you can benefit from stronger off-the-line acceleration, and a better mid-range power boost. If you select this option, we suggest taking a look at the jet black Screamin’ Eagle Buckshot Exhaust Shield Kit too. (3)

Screamin’ Eagle Performance Air Cleaner Kit: This feature includes what has been described by H-D® as a washable “high-flow, oiled cotton media element.” A Screamin’ Eagle air cleaner medallion and all necessary hardware are also included, and when the job is done the kit fits nicely under the Original Equipment air cleaner shell. (3)

Typhoon Custom Wheels: These are not just any Typhoon Custom nine-spoke wheels — they add style to the rebellious vibe of your H-D® motorcycle with machined Cut Back Black or Mirror Chrome. (3)

Cafe Solo Seat: Paying tribute to the iconic café racer styling, this seat adds a tapered tail and sporting profile, thanks in part to a one-up design and high back pad. And if you're seeking a more direct connection with your motorcycle, Harley® says the seat’s low-slung pad and narrow nose should do the job. (3)
