What Harley-Davidson® is Bringing to 2016

If you haven’t seen, let alone tried the 2016 Harley-Davidson® motorcycle collection, then you don’t know the extent of what you are missing — not yet, anyway. After all, the fact that H-D®’s lineup includes some powerful new models and numerous styling and technical upgrades is no longer a secret. (1)

Sportsters

Both the 2016 Harley-Davidson® Sportster Forty-Eight and Iron 883 benefit from technical upgrades such as a new front and rear suspension,(1) emulsion technology rear shocks, (2) and a more comfortable seat, among other elements. (1) They also receive visual updates thanks to the bike maker’s new Dark Custom styling that is “inspired by the rebellious spirit of the past,” according to the H-D®. (3) Overall, expect sleek, blacked-out features like mufflers and floating brake rotors, and new lightweight cast aluminum wheels with machined highlights. (2)

S-Series Cruisers

In the S-series department, your focus should be on the 2016 Harley-Davidson® Fat Boy S and Softail Slim S models — both of which draw their power from a Screamin’ Eagle air-cooled Twin Cam 110B engine. The unit, described as a “tire-smoker” by H-D®’s senior vice president, Mark-Hans Richer, (1) is good for a total 108/109 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 rpm. (4)

Road Glide Ultra

Harley® welcomes back the top-of-the-line Road Glide Ultra to the family once more. After a two-year hiatus, the vehicle received several Project Rushmore enhancements which made for a more stylish bike that is also more ergonomically comfortable to ride. In addition, the motorcycle’s aerodynamics have been improved, and its power source is a Twin-Cooled High Output Twin Cam 103. (1)

Heritage Softail Classic

It’s hard not to appreciate the Harley-Davidson® Heritage Softail Classic, and for 2016 it's even more enticing. Refreshed styling adds to the visual appeal, a new electric cruise control feature adds to the overall comfort aspect of the ride, and a new High Output Twin Cam 103 engine is bound to enhance performance.
